Dr. Downey was selected by his peers as deserving Best Doctors status for the 2011 – 2012 election period! Their nomination and election process selects 5% of physicians nationwide for inclusion on the Best Doctor list. 

This process uses a peer-to-peer process where existing Best Doctor physicians nominate other physicians of excellence in their field. A team of researchers confirm credentials and specific areas of expertise.

The method Best Doctors uses is blinded and unbiased. Physicians who are elected to Best Doctor status cannot pay a fee or vote for themselves.
